The round ball analyst

Tony is an innovator in online and football writing in Australia, starting one of Australia's first football blogs in 2005, focussing on the on-field analysis of player and coaching performance, with a particular strength for describing what was happening tactically on the field. He wanted to give Australian football fans more than they ever had, getting into a managers heads to understand why things were happening as they were on the pitch.

The word 'Analyst' only began to be used in Australia after Tony's blog was launched. Tony spent seven years writing for The Roar during the growth of the A-League and has also written for various other sites and publications including Australia and British Soccer Weekly, Soccer International, The Strip and Back of the Net. Tony can generally be found wherever a ball is being kicked, whether it's the youth elite pathways, NPL, A-League, or Socceroos, and is enjoying his radio and online streaming work as a commentator and analyst.
