Our most recent polls have mostly revolved around results of some big games, and the results suggest none of us are very good at tipping winners!

Of course, as we've indicated previously, our polls are not scientific, just a bit of fun, an individual can vote more than once, and the number of respondents to each poll question varies. To assist you to gauge the outcome, we've include the number of votes in brackets after each issue.

Women's Asian Cup (n=118)

Showing the partisan nature of our readers, we asked who would win the Women's Asian Cup and 100% of voters said 'Australia'. All of us got that one wrong.

Guard of honour (36)

You'll recall this was a bit of a 'how's your father?' issue between Graham Arnold and Melbourne Victory for the final game of the regular season. We wrote about guards of honour in football here.

  • 67% said a guard of honour should be formed
  • the remainder (33%) said there shouldn't be one.

Elimination finals (144)

We asked who would the two winners be in the first week of the A-League finals:

  • Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory : 2% (yes, we did a double-take on this)
  • Melbourne City and Adelaide United : 23%
  • Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory : 42%
  • Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United : 33% (surprising to us!)

Our contributor, Stuart Thomas, went for Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory

Semi-finals

Newcastle Jets v Melbourne City (31)

Everyone (100%) tipped Newcastle Jets! Thank you Newcastle Jets fans for reading FootballToday.news.

Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory (124)

Almost four-in-five people (79%) tipped Sydney FC.

Our latest poll question is whether you would select Tim Cahill for the Socceroos squad at the 2018 World Cup. Yes / No / Undecided. Have a vote!
