Due to a combination of circumstances, we are only able to blog on the three football reports in today's Australian newspaper. For an updated report on the Socceroos squad, see here.

The Socceroos love has been shared around today with Ray Gatt reporting that Andrew Nabbout and Dimi Petratos will be announced this morning in Bert van Marwijk's “25 or 26” man squad for the two friendlies v Norway and Colombia. Those likely to miss out are Matt Jurman, the injured Trent Sainsbury, Mitch Langerak and James Troisi.

Sydney FC are hanging on - or hanging in - to the ACL with a “wonderful” 1-1 draw last night v Kashima Antlers with a 70' equaliser to Matt Simon. The draw leaves them last in their group on two points, one point behind Shanghai Shenhua who lost 0-2 to Suwon Bluewings, who are Sydney FC's next opponents in Suwon on 3 April.

In the other match, a brilliant late strike from Kostas Barbarouses gave Melbourne Victory a welcome 1-0 win over Kawasaki Frontale. The win puts them equal second with their next opponents, Ulsan Hyundai, whom they meet in Ulsan on 4 April.
